Guidelines for Contributed Material
New Product Announcements
We want to publish your new product announcements. In order for us to do so, your material must include the following:
- New product information (please don't send us releases on old products)
- Reader contact information
- Pricing and availability
- Artwork, if available.
Material can be sent in either print or email form.
Contributed features
We are always looking for contributed features. If you would like to contribute a feature, please first discuss your idea with the appropriate editor or send them an abstract or outline of your proposed article. Then follow the guidelines below to ensure that your article will meet our needs:
- Ideally the article will help design engineers select products by discussing features and specifications, technological developments, and industry trends.
- Feel free to briefly cite specific products as real-world examples of the technology being discussed, but please leave out marketing and detailed discussion on your company's products.
- Avoid describing how to use a product in an application. Use block diagrams rather than complex schematics.
- Stay concise--1500 words or less.
- Include artwork!
- Include full author's contact information.
Submit the completed manuscript in both hard-copy and electronic form. It is preferred that the file be in ASCII plain-text format (best) or Microsoft Word.
Artwork
Please always include images (electronic format preferred) and/or diagrams that complement the text.
- For feature articles, select a representative photograph or illustration that can be used to introduce the subject matter on the first page.
- Electronic images must be high resolution - that is, at least 300 dpi or more at the approximate size that the image will be used in the magazine.
- Please supply hard-copy versions of all illustrations.
